ANTH 360 - Indigenous AnthropologyUnits: 3 An interdisciplinary introduction to the study of indigenous communities. Employing a cross-cultural, multidisciplinary framework this course examines the historical and contemporary relationships among anthropology, the social sciences, and indigenous peoples. Themes covered include how the social sciences and anthropology have engaged with and written about indigenous communities, political decolonization, transnational indigenous rights movements and current paradigms in the social sciences that have led to new ways of imagining and articulating identities. May not be taken for credit by students who have received credit for ID 370 -8.
