VSAR 325 - Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican Art and SocietyUnits: 3 Examines Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican art as it reflects social, structure, religion, social roles, ideology, economic and political organization, world view, and the family. The course will cover the preclassic, classic, and postclassic periods, focusing on four maincultural areas: the Olmec, the Maya, the Zapotec, Teotihuacan and Classic central Mexico, and the Aztec and Mixteca-Puebla style of highland Mexico.
