AMD 100 - Visual Arts FundamentalsUnits: 3 Introduction to the fundamentals of design in the visual arts with a focus on two-dimensional design. Exploration of basic elements of design, such as line, shape, balance, texture, scale, and proportion. Addresses how the fundamentals of design contribute to the overall content and meaning of visual works. Investigates historical and contemporary examples of design in various art forms including film, video, and new media through slide lectures, readings and field trips. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for VSAR 130. Fieldtrips outside of class may be required.
