Message from the President

Welcome to California State University San Marcos! We are an innovative, welcoming community of students, faculty, staff and alumni who exemplify values of inclusive excellence, lifelong learning and community engagement.

Founded in 1989, we have grown from a few hundred students who attended classes in a strip mall to one that today serves 17,000 students at our state-of-the art campus in northern San Diego County, as well as a satellite campus in nearby Temecula. Known throughout the region for preparing students to become the leaders and change agents of tomorrow, we offer hands-on undergraduate research, community engagement, and quality academic programs that connect to regional industry needs.

Students are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to ensure that every person who aspires to earn a college degree receives that opportunity. Our faculty, staff, and administrators are here to help you achieve your dreams and we look forward to welcoming you to the Cougar family.
