BIOL 386 - Terrestrial EcologyUnits: 3 A survey of terrestrial ecosystems and the biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) factors that affect ecosystem structure and function. Emphasis will be on the important mass (C, H2O nutrient) and energy (production and consumption) fluxes that flow into, out of, and through terrestrial ecosystems, and the plant-animal interactions that regulate the rates and magnitudes of these mass and energy flows. Field trip(s) during or outside of class (including weekends) may be required.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 210 and BIOL 211 .
