SOC 550 - Critical Perspectives in Sociological PracticeUnits: 4 Designed to assist students in understanding human service delivery from the diverse perspectives (of race, gender, class, age, sexuality, and disability) of those who receive services. Focuses on: 1) the historical development of social services in varying economic, political, social, and philosophical climates; 2) critical assessments of the theories and practices guiding social service delivery; and 3) the effectiveness of human services in meeting the needs of diverse groups. May not be taken for credit by students who have received credit for SOC 630. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Sociological Practice Program.
