ANTH 391 - Anthropological TheoryUnits: 3 Introduces and familiarizes students with key theories and theorists in sociocultural anthropology. Focusing on the range of analytic frames that anthropologists have brought to bear (and continue to do so) in trying to conceptualize, understand, account for, and describe the lived world, this course examines the fundamental anthropological models of thinking about and understanding persons in sociocultural milieus. Setting the development of these ideas in their historical contexts, key theorists are also introduced and analyzed.
