Wedding Planning Certificate


Program Overview

Learn the need-to-know skills and resources needed to create beautiful, memorable weddings. The Professional Certificate in Wedding Planning was uniquely designed to provide participants the experience of visiting a variety of local wedding venues while gaining expert knowledge from local in-demand industry professionals.

Location: CSUSM San Marcos campus and local wedding venues
Fee: $149 per course; $1,341 entire certificate
Discount: Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals, 10%; CSUSM students and alumni, 15%

Audience

Planners who have event planning experience and are interested in focusing their talents on wedding coordination. Photographers, caterers, entertainment specialists and venue coordinators will also benefit from this program. In addition, this is an excellent advanced certificate for our CSUSM Meeting and Event Planning certificate graduates.

Learning Outcomes

• Build and execute budgets and timelines to meet your clients’ expectations
• Learn about different types of wedding planners and the services they provide as well as the key skills required of successful planners
• Understand legal jargon and how to write your own contract clauses
• Develop a SWOT analysis to prequalify and select the appropriate venue and destination for your clients’ wedding
• Work effectively with onsite catering staff or external caterers and learn how to help select the most appropriate food and beverage
• Identify the hidden costs and details of decorating interior and exterior spaces, and offsite venue locations
• Select the best supplier and package to accommodate your clients’ expectations and budget
