Mathematics offers a rich mix of pure and modern applied courses. Common to these offerings are the power, beauty, and utility of mathematical thought. Mathematical thinking and the ability to tackle challenging problems are highly valued by a wide variety of employers. A student who minors in mathematics will train their ability to explore, conjecture, persist and reason logically, as well as the ability to effectively use a variety of mathematical methods to solve problems.
Special Conditions for the Minor in Mathematics
At least nine (9) units must be at the 300-level or higher, and must be completed at CSUSM.
At least six (6) units must be unique to the Minor.
All courses counted toward the Minor must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
