AMD 326 - Critical Theories of the Arts in CyberspaceUnits: 3 Explores the impact of the rapidly developing information technologies of the arts - film, video, literature, music, performance, and visual art. Examines the breakdown of disciplinary boundaries as the interactive multimedia technologies combine video, text, audio, and graphic images. Explores the social and ethical implications of the new technologies and their relationship to the arts. Addresses artists whose work has been shaped by information technologies and who are helping to define the electronic interfaces and virtual worlds of the future. May be repeated for credit for a total of six (6) units. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: VSAR 405.
