SOC 550 - Critical Perspectives in Sociological PracticeUnits: 4 Designed to assist students in understanding human service delivery from the diverse perspectives (of race, gender, class, age, sexuality, and disability) of those who receive services. Focuses on: 1) the historical development of social services in varying economic, political, social, and philosophical climates; 2) critical assessments of the theories and practices guiding social service delivery; and 3) the effectiveness of human services in meeting the needs of diverse groups. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: SOC 630. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Sociological Practice Program.
