LING 300 - Linguistics in the ClassroomUnits: 3 Practical approaches to linguistic analysis of the languages and dialects that teachers are likely to see in the classroom. Includes the production and organization of natural sound systems, word and sentence formation patterns, the linguistic organization of meaning, language history and change, language acquisition, multilingualism, dialect variation according to culture, region, ethnicity, social group, gender, and age. Addresses these topics as relevant both inside and outside the classroom. Service Learning course.
Prerequisite(s): LING 101 with a minimum grade of C (2.0). Satisfies Diversity & Equity area: DEu
