HIST 371 - Modern African HistoryUnits: 3 Part II survey of African history examines the political, socio-economic, and cultural issues in Africa (particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa) from 1800 to the present. Issues considered include Africa’s increasing economic and political transformation before European intrusion, colonial occupation and African resistance, African response to colonial overrule, and the coming of independence and Africa’s challenges in world affairs. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: HIST 271.
