SPAN 521 - Pre-Columbian Spanish American LiteratureUnits: 3 In-depth examination of pre-Hispanic texts such as the Popol Vuh, Nahuatl poetry and other Aztec, Mayan, Quiché, Quechuan, and Incan religious, legal, and literary texts. Exploration of theories of oral literature. Study of cultural factors affecting literary manifestations in pre-Columbian societies. Conducted in Spanish. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students with graduate standing in Spanish.
