BIOL 506L - Avian Biology Lab and Field Studies

Units: 2
Complements the Avian Biology lecture course (BIOL 506), and focuses on providing direct, hands-on experience with the tools and techniques of ornithology and avian ecology. The laboratory, field, and discussion activities cover avian systematics, anatomy, local species identification, census techniques, behavioral observation methods, data analysis, and discussions of relevant scientific literature. Off-campus field trips may be required. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: BIOL 597-04. One hour of discussion. Three hours of laboratory/field activity.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 353 , BIOL 354 , or enrollment in the Biological Sciences Graduate Program.
Corequisite(s): BIOL 506 .
