ECON 425 - Welfare Economics

Units: 3
A course in applied welfare analysis that introduces students to a set of techniques used to analyze policy. Benefit-cost analysis enables the economist to evaluate the social desirability (efficiency) of different policies. In addition to focusing on efficiency, the student will also be introduced to concepts of fairness. This course combines economic theory, in particular microeconomic theory, policy analysis, and distributive ethics.

Prerequisite(s): ECON 301  and ECON 303  .
