NURS 533D - Advanced Field Study: Management of the Clients and Families Across the Life Span I - FNP

Units: 4
Clinical practicum allows for immersion into the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) role of the advanced practice nurse in the primary care setting. Using foundations of theory, research, and other evidence, students will manage common acute illnesses in individuals throughout the lifespan in a variety of clinical sites. Continuation of the application of primary prevention strategies and health maintenance will be incorporated into care. Students will be mentored by advanced practice nurse practitioners or physicians in activities expected of the role. The minimum requirement for this practicum is 180 hours. Enrollment Restrictions: Enrollment restricted to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing Program. Enrollment Requirement(s): NURS 532A  must be taken concurrently.
