BIOL 175 - Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology IUnits: 4 The first in a two-course series designed to introduce the principles of human anatomy and physiology for students in health and human services, including Nursing. Taught from a systems perspective where students will learn basic physiological principles and mechanisms along with their associated anatomical basis. Material includes anatomical terminology, cell and tissue structure and function, basic biochemical and metabolic pathways and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, digestive and excretory systems. Enrollment Restrictions: This is a Pre-Nursing Core course and enrollment is restricted to approved pre-health science students based on the nursing science impaction criteria. Three hours of lecture. Three hours of laboratory.
