SOC 309 - Aging and SocietyUnits: 3 Examines the social correlates of human aging, with a concentration on adulthood and old age. Presents multiple perspectives on the myriad interrelationships between aging and society, drawing on studies in biology, psychology, history, anthropology, political science, economics, and sociology. Particular attention is given to comparisons of aging experiences across race/ethnic, sex, socioeconomic, cultural, and national lines. In addition, students may pursue a service-learning activity benefiting elder members of the local community.
