HIST 337  - History of the American Presidency

History of the U.S. presidency from the founding of the nation to the present. Explores ways in which the respective presidents have balanced their responsibilities for national security and social security in the context of political, economic, social and cultural changes in the nation. Addresses to what extent the presidents were responsible for or subject to those changes throughout the nation’s history. Examines presidential relationships and communication with American citizens (and non-citizens) in the context of historical change.
May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: HIST 300-15.
