Explores the many facets of U.S. film and looks at the manner in which the film industry developed during the course of the 20th Century. Looks at the evolution of film making and the manner in which film not only shaped but also reflected the historical moments in which it was born, with careful attention to the manner in which film reflects American society’s tensions over race, class, and gender.
