WGSS 405 - Foundations of Feminist TheoriesUnits: 3 Examines intersectional and interdisciplinary feminist theories and how these theories relate to activism. Explores the intersections of gender, sexuality, race/ethnicity, class, nationality/citizenship/immigration status, and dis/ability within the contexts of first, second, and third wave feminisms in the U.S. and globally. Considers systems of privilege and oppression that structure our everyday lives in social, cultural, and political contexts. Also examines how feminist theories and theorizing enable us to unpack various systems of power. Recommended Preparation: WGSS 101 , WGSS 301 .
