CS 450  - Usable Security and Privacy

Units: 3
Covers common Human-Computer interaction methods, including core aspects of usable privacy and security principles and practices, methodologies, technologies, as well as user studies carried out by educators and researchers in the field. Examines how people interact with different computing systems and how human factors play a significant role in the area of phishing, access control, and authentication. Introduces browser security, privacy policy, social media privacy, online tracking, censorship, cybersecurity user education, brain-computer interface security, and emerging security and privacy. Helps future security designers to develop better security and privacy solutions.
May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: CS 697-2. Dual-listed: CS 450 is dual-listed with CS 650 . Students may not receive credit for both.
