BIOL 506A - Avian Biology LectureUnits: 3 The study of birds, encompassing traditional ornithology and applied avian ecology. Covers the fundamentals of avian systematics, evolution, anatomy, physiology, reproduction, behavior, ecology, and conservation. Major topics will include dinosaur origins, flight mechanics and physiology, foraging and feeding behavior, social interactions and life-history strategies, and population dynamics. May not be taken for credit by students who received credit for: BIOL 596-03 or BIOL 506.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 353 , BIOL 354 , or enrollment in the Biological Sciences graduate program.
