BIOL 656 - Advanced Molecular Medicine

Advanced understanding of molecular medicine and recent advances in the field taught through a combination of didactic methods and the use of case studies. Includes advanced principles of molecular medicine, modern discoveries in cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease, applications of clinical research, relevant topics in biomedical ethics, and current developments in personalized medicine. We will approach these subjects from the perspective of evaluating the process of therapeutic or vaccine approval from bench to bedside. May not be taken by students who have received credit for BIOL 686 -4. Enrollment restricted to students with graduate standing.
