Renew Your Enthusiam for Learning • Explore New Interests • Make New Friends

Learning isn’t limited by age. At CSUSM’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, our 700 students choose from 100 classes that we offer annually throughout the region. Our Osher students show us why education matters at every age and we are inspired not only by the vitality of their intellectual curiosity but by the power of the friendships they develop.

“Osher gave me an outlet for being able to meet other people and have some interesting conversations,” says Osher member Carmen Multhauf. “And I think the biggest benefit is being able to open your mind to other ideas and other viewpoints.”

“I joined Cal State San Marcos’ Osher program shortly after moving to Carlsbad and it’s provided the best value for ongoing intellectual stimulation to be found,” says member Jack Cumming. “The variety of offerings and the quality of the faculty are top-notch.”

Detailed information on all of our Osher programs is available at csusm.edu/el/olli.

The seasonal course catalog for Osher is available online now!

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is a nonprofit organization established to improve the quality of life for adults over 50 years of age through higher education and the arts. OLLI at CSUSM was established in 2004 and is one of 121 Lifelong Learning Institutes supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation.

Osher provides a wide array of relaxed courses taught by university professors and experts in their respective fields. The program aims to keep learners intellectually active and socially engaged with like-minded peers. There are no tests or grades and the program is open to all older adults regardless of previous educational achievements. Lifelong learners come together for the pure joy of learning. If you’d like to renew your enthusiasm for learning, explore new interests and make new friends, OLLI is for you!

Osher Programs at CSUSM

Osher programs are offered Monday through Friday throughout the year. Class offerings cover a wide range of topics, from history and art appreciation to current events and health and wellness.
