Business Administration, Professional Option, B.S.

Program of Study


The professional BSBA program is a general business degree offered to individuals with at least two years of work experience. Each student is required to complete 24 semester units of “Pre-Business Core” courses prior to admission, and 60 units of study in residence with CSUSM. All classes will be held at the main campus.

Program Student Learning Outcomes


The goal of CoBA is to ensure that our graduates have learned and are able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, competencies, and values they will need to achieve their personal and professional goals. Students who graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration will be able to:

  1. Effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing;
  2. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  3. Demonstrate interpersonal and collaboration skills;
  4. Apply analytics to business situations;
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of information technology;
  6. Apply ethical and socially responsible perspectives/viewpoints and demonstrate an understanding of their consequences;
  7. Identify and apply global perspectives in making business decisions; and
  8. Describe and apply foundational business concepts, theories, processes, and strategies.

Admission Criteria


  • Completed at least 60 Lower-Division transferrable units
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA in pre-business courses
  • At least 2 years of full-time work experience equivalent
  • A professional reference assessing management/leadership potential

Electives (16 Units)


Students will complete 16 units of elective course work from at least three of the Business Administration options Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Finance, Global Business, and Global Supply Chain Management.
