SOC 403 - International Children’s RightsUnits: 3 Examines the U.N.’s Convention on the Rights of the Child and its call for children’s rights to survive, to develop, to be protected from harm, and to participate. Students learn about issues such as child labor, education, war, childcare, trafficking, sexual exploitation, homelessness, health, poverty, and play. Themes also include: globalization and social processes, children’s agencies, and the diversity of children’s experiences based on gender, ethnicity, race, and social class.
