SOC 463 - Seminar in White PrivilegeUnits: 2 Critically examines the construction of whiteness in terms of privilege, racism, and notions of supremacy. A range of interdisciplinary texts address the meaning of “whiteness” in U.S. society as a privileged identity, group, culture, and status. The reproduction of white privilege through institutional practices and social interactions is emphasized. Intensive reading and a research project are required.
Prerequisite(s): SOC 313 .
